Warranty Policy

At Auto Parts Mart, we are committed to supplying quality automotive parts, tyres, accessories, and related products. We stand behind the products we sell and aim to provide fair and transparent warranty support in accordance with South African consumer protection laws.

Please read this Warranty Policy carefully before making a purchase.

Product Warranty Coverage

Many products sold by Auto Parts Mart are covered by either:

  • A manufacturer's warranty;

  • A supplier's warranty; or

  • A limited warranty provided by Auto Parts Mart where applicable.

Warranty coverage varies depending on the product, manufacturer, and intended use. The applicable warranty period will be stated on the product page where available or supplied with the product.

Warranty Period

The warranty period begins on the original date of purchase unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer.

Warranty periods differ between products and brands. Customers are encouraged to retain their proof of purchase for all warranty claims.

What the Warranty Covers

A valid warranty generally covers manufacturing defects, material defects, or workmanship faults that occur during normal and intended use of the product.

Examples may include:

  • Manufacturing defects

  • Faulty workmanship

  • Material failures

  • Factory-related performance issues

Any warranty assessment is subject to inspection and approval by the manufacturer or supplier where required.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

Unless required by law, warranties do not cover damage or failure resulting from:

  • Incorrect installation

  • Improper use or misuse

  • Vehicle accidents or collisions

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Racing or competition use

  • Off-road use where the product is not designed for such use

  • Neglect or poor maintenance

  • Modifications or alterations

  • Exposure to fire, flooding, chemicals, or other environmental damage

  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect product performance

Tyres are not covered for damage caused by road hazards such as punctures, impact damage, sidewall cuts, vandalism, or improper inflation unless specifically covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Installation Requirements

Certain automotive parts must be professionally installed by a qualified technician or registered workshop.

Where a manufacturer's warranty requires professional installation, failure to comply may void the warranty.

Customers should retain installation invoices where applicable.

Warranty Claims

To submit a warranty claim, customers may be required to provide:

  • Original proof of purchase

  • Order number

  • Product photographs

  • Description of the fault

  • Installation invoice (where applicable)

  • Any additional information requested during the assessment process

Products should not be returned without prior authorization from Auto Parts Mart.

Warranty Assessment

Warranty claims are assessed by the relevant manufacturer, supplier, or authorized inspection centre where applicable.

Assessment timeframes may vary depending on the product and supplier.

If a warranty claim is approved, the product may be:

  • Repaired;

  • Replaced with the same or an equivalent product; or

  • Refunded where repair or replacement is not reasonably possible, subject to applicable law.

Shipping Costs for Warranty Claims

Where a warranty claim is confirmed as valid, Auto Parts Mart may, at its discretion or where required by law, cover reasonable shipping costs.

If inspection determines that the product is not covered under warranty, the customer may be responsible for any applicable shipping or handling charges.

Limitation of Warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, this warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

Auto Parts Mart is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use a product, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Warranty Policy limits or excludes any rights available to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (Act No. 68 of 2008) or any other applicable South African legislation.

Customers retain all statutory rights provided by law.
